Experience Overview

Asinara National Park is situated on the northern side of the island, facing towards the South. Here we find a small port that has been an essential landing place over the centuries, and lots of buildings dating back to the period in which the island was a quarantine station (Lazaretto) and hosted a penal colony.

We will have the opportunity to admire the rarest “white donkey”, one of the most known symbols of the Park and visit the Sea Turtle Recovery Centre.
Departure at 9:30 am from Stintino for a full-day cruise in the protected waters of Asinara National Park, among wild granite coasts and turquoise coves.

Stops include Cala d’Oliva, the island’s historic village and former prison; Cala del Bianco for swimming and lunch on board (pasta with prawns, wine and local liqueurs); and Cala Reale, home to the Park headquarters, the Marine Turtle Centre and the famous white donkeys.
Final swim stop at Li Graniti or Punta degli Inglesi, depending on weather conditions.
Return to Stintino in the late afternoon (5:30–6:00 pm).

Alternative Itinerary – Grecale Wind
For safety and comfort, in case of Grecale winds the route moves to the southern and western coast of Asinara.
Stops include Fornelli with a walk to the former maximum-security prison, a swim at Secca del Cavallo, lunch on board and a second swim stop at Porto Mannu (Cala Reale).
Return to Stintino in the afternoon, with the route confirmed by the captain according to weather and sea conditions.
