Experience Overview
As we walk along the paths of the Giara, we will experience moments when time seems to stand still and extraordinary colours accompany us, evoking unique emotions. The vast expanses of water known as 'Paulis', where the wild horses and other animals that inhabit the Giara gather, shine in the sunlight. In the evening, at dusk, this creates a splendid scene where everything seems to change as soon as the sun's soft rays touch it. The horses gather here to refresh themselves and feed on the aquatic Ranunculus (Ranunculus acquatilis) that bloom in April and May, covering the immense Paulis with a white mantle.
In these places, there is an absolute absence of noise, except for the occasional chirping of birds or the clopping of horses' hooves running through the Giara. You will be enveloped by the fragrance of the many species of flowers, whose scent mingles with the fresh, pure air to transport you back in time and make you realise how little has changed on this plateau over the centuries. Everything here is perfect: the living scenery, the splendid views, the absolute absence of disturbing noises and the crisp, fresh air. These are the right ingredients for fabulous relaxation.
