The excursion starts with an educational moment. How to go to sea, safety rules, basic sailing information, activities and behavior on board. Afterwards, Paolo and participants compile the navigation plan together, planning the route according to the weather conditions. The integration between sailors is quick and facilitated by Paolo’s patience, friendliness and competence.

Having left the moorings, Merak will unfurl its sails in the Golfo degli Angeli, skirting the Capo Sant’Elia promontory and its multicolored cliffs until reaching Cala Fighera where, having dropped anchor, one can swim in crystal-clear emerald-green waters.

The Sella del Diavolo (The Devil’s Saddle), which owes its name to an ancient popular legend, is a promontory rich in traces of frequentation since the Neolithic period, with high white cliffs, fragrant Mediterranean scrub, and home to seagulls and cormorants.

Navigation then proceeds towards the Poetto beach. Eight kilometers of beach with fine white sand and crystal-clear, shallow water for tens of meters, ideal for swimming and snorkeling. The navigation is framed by an invigorating dive into the sea, infinitesimal shades of blue separating sea and sky, the chattering of the waves, the circling of seagulls and cormorants, the choreography of flamingos, the leaping of dolphins and sometimes the flight over the waves of Luna Rossa.
