Descripción general de la experiencia
In Barumini, a small village in the countryside, on the top of a hill lies the most famous Sardinian nuraghe: Su Nuraxi. Thanks to its exceptional state of conservation and the complexity of its structure, which has five towers (one in the middle and the others around it), city walls, and the ruins of an ancient village, it was awarded as an integral part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997, the only one on the island.
Sardinia is distinguished by its unique and mysterious archaeological history. The island has about 7000 nuraghi, stone fortresses dating from the sixteenth and ninth centuries BC. For those who see it for the first time, the show is breathtaking. It is no coincidence that the Greeks, on their arrival in Sardinia, considered only Dedalus capable of their building. The nuraghi have become a symbol of island culture and a source of pride for us Sardinians.
After visiting Su Nuraxi, we will take you to Casa Zapata Museum where the ruins of Su Nuraxi ‘e Crexia are enclosed; the nuraghe is located, in fact, in the heart of the town of Barumini and has been used as a foundation for the construction of a 15th-century Spanish noble house.
